The Track of the Fire:  The Quail Diaries, entry 1

I walked out into the burned region of my field site today. Tomorrow I’ll bring a camera. The good news:the quail are still around, as are the towhees, jays, gnatcatchers, squirrels, hawks, doves and other critters. And the cuts through the brush and the fire path itself make it a hell of a lot easier to get around out there. Tweet
